Overview

KTUYOS is conducted by KTU and it provides international students an opportunity to apply for study at university.

The exam results are valid for two years to register at KTU.

KTUYOS result is essential for acceptance to associate degree/undergraduate programmes, and cannot be used for undergraduate transfers.

All issues on the KTUYOS exam are handled by the KTUYOS Office. However, the Office is not responsible for any other issue such as undergraduate transfers or postgraduate studies.

The contact languages of the Office of KTUYOS are English and Turkish. The Office of KTUYOS is not responsible for any technical problem or delay in contact.

The Office of KTUYOS does not provide assist/counselling for applicants to get passport/visa or official permission to leave their home countries for education purposes. Also, students are responsible for ensuring their residence, accommodation, scholarship, transportation etc.

The terms in this guide may change in time regarding the policies of the Higher Education Council of Turkey and the Senate of Karadeniz Technical University. Then, the required principles will be announced by the Executive Board of KTU.

The Office of KTUYOS is responsible for the related issues which are not mentioned here.

1) How can I apply for KTUYOS?

KTUYOS exam applications are taken online either in Turkish or English languages.

2) What should I do if I forget my password?

Please send your password to your e-mail by clicking the button "Forgot Password" on the login page.

3) What are the requirements to take the exam?

4) How can I reach the address of the exam centre?

5) Can I apply with another exam result rather than KTUYOS?

Please check the Application Requirements section to find the relevant information about the particular exams accepted by KTU.

6) What should I do if the exam payment is not confirmed?

If the payment is not approved in a week after you complete the process by using the given IBAN available on our webpage, please send an e-mail attached a screenshot of the detailed bank receipt to ktuyos@ktu.edu.tr.

7) How can I access information about the Exam Centres?

Please visit our webpage to be informed about the Exam Centres on the announced dates.

8) Why am I supposed to select 3 exam centres?

If any examination centre is preferred by less than 20 people, the centre will be cancelled. So, applicants are supposed to take the exam in their second/third choice of exam centre.

9) What should I do after the exam payment?

You can follow the process by logging into the system. You are recommended to ensure your approval by checking your personal page until you see "Your payment has been approved". Then, please visit our webpage to access and print your Exam Entry Document on the dates announced.

10) Can I choose any language for the exam?

Applicants can take the KTUYOS exam in Turkish, Arabic, English or Persian languages (French and Russian are also applicable). You are supposed to choose a language during the registration. If needed, any update in language preference is also possible after the registration.

11) How many questions is the KTUYOS exam consisted of?

KTUYOS exam is a multiple-choice test that consisted of 80 questions with 5 options and each four incorrect answers eliminate one correct answer.

12) What is the duration of the KTUYOS exam?

The duration of the exam is 120 minutes (2 hours).

Application Requirements

Who can apply for KTUYOS?

  • Non-Turkish students
  • Those having parents who previously held Turkish citizenship
  • Those having acquired citizenship of Turkey subsequently

Applicants who are graduates or senior students of high schools can apply to the KTUYOS exam if meeting one of the following conditions:

Students who have graduated from any institution with Turkish high school equivalence and who meet the application criteria below shall apply for enrollment at Karadeniz Technical University;
  1. International students,
  2. Those holding Turkish citizenship by birth who have renounced their Turkish citizenship, and their children under 18 who are listed in the renouncement document but can document their certification for rights as per the Turkish Citizenship Law No: 5901, Item 7, stating that "Anyone born, either in Turkey or abroad, in the marriage of a Turkish mother or father, is a Turkish citizen.",
  3. Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth and have acquired citizenship to the Republic of Turkey / those who hold dual citizenship,
  4. Among those who have pursued their secondary education abroad before the date of 01/02/2013 and who hold citizenship in the Republic of Turkey,
  5. Those who have completed their last three years of secondary education in another country, other than the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (including those who have completed their entire secondary education in a Turkish institution under the Ministry of Education of Turkey in another country, other than TRNC),
  6. Those who have begun their secondary education abroad after the date of 01/02/2013 and who have completed their high school education in another country, other than TRNC (including those who have completed their entire secondary education in a Turkish institution under the Ministry of Education of Turkey in another country, other than TRNC),
  7. Those who hold citizenship in TRNC, who reside in TRNC and who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system, as well as those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010.

Who cannot apply for KTUYOS?

Those who have received a suspension due to disciplinary action from a Higher Education Institution cannot apply for the quota of International Students. Those who apply for the quota of International Students must meet the application requirements.

  1. Those who hold citizenship in the Republic of Turkey and have completed their secondary education in Turkey or in TRNC,
  2. Those who hold citizenship in TRNC (except for those who have completed their entire secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who have registered and completed/will complete their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),
  3. Those who hold dual citizenship, including citizenship in the Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article (a) item. 2 above (except for those who satisfy the criteria stated in article (a) item 4),
  4. Those who hold dual citizenship, including citizenship in TRNC (except for those who have completed their entire secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who have registered and completed/will complete their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),
  5. And those who hold citizenship in the Republic of Turkey or dual citizenship, including citizenship in the Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article (a) item 2 above, and who have completed their secondary education in institutions within an embassy or other foreign institution in Turkey,
